MEMORIES OF THE PAST

All through our life, we come across millions of people. We perpend and judge, we analyse and comment. We select, out of those millions, a very few who somehow seem to strike a vibe with us. But on what basis does this selection take place? We do not select a friend based on their likes and dislikes and almost all the time our friends happen to be poles apart from us. We fight and quarrel like babies but at the end of the day we call them our family. Whereas some other set of people who might seem too similar to us can’t give us the same happiness as the rest do.

These thoughts put my philosophical mind into action and I start wondering how this selection process works. What I figured is that this is not in our hands, and something super natural takes place while we remain ignorant. As I searched through books and internet, there is one theory which I found deeply riveting. It is said that every person in our present life was a significant part of our previous life. This causes us to love one person and despise the other, to find one particular characteristic of a person intriguing while the other irritating.

It seems that the effects of past life experiences with a soul reflects in the present life relationships. As we see a person with our eyes, it is not actually the mind or heart that connects but the soul. It recognises the other soul and reminds itself the experiences. Soul looks into a memory of centuries of passion and adventure, caring and love, hatred and anger, doubt and fear. This initializes a vibration that causes us to react to a person in a particular way.

However, it is highly impossible that a memory is completely positive or negative. Most of the times it so happens that people we have good memories with are also a cause of depression and pain. This of course is a ‘mixture of karma’.  Those well-developed aspects of past lives tend to give us pleasure and happiness in the present and the other bad aspects tend to give us a sense of pain and fear. As per the ‘Universal Law of Karma’, it is not possible to get rid of the negative effects of past life. Thus what the other souls have done to us and what we have done to other souls constantly keep coming into our present surrounding us with circumstances we would have to deal with. So, everytime someone hurts us, shall we blame the past life for this and forgive the person?
