RIGHT OR WRONG

The other day, an elderly man, read through my blog posts and appreciated me for my writing. He simply said that I am a talented girl, however, I should not get carried away. I should always post about matters that help people around me and that I should never hurt someone with my words.
The words hit me hard. Day and night I started to think of what to write and how to put forward my opinions without hurting anyone. Then I came across the term- Social Responsibility
Social responsibility, in simple words, means to act or behave in a manner that is beneficial to the society. There are some things that can be right away called as a deterrent to the society. Some examples in that category could be individual issues such as smoking, cultural issues such as the caste system or even environmental issues such as green house emissions. On the other hand, there are certain issues that are categorized as good or bad for the society based on the perspective of the human mind. The most important ones in this category are those pertaining to politics and religion. While some would say following Donald Trump is the best thing that can happen to the United States of America, some others would say they should vote for Hillary Clinton for a better vision of America. While some would say that the world would be in peace if everyone followed Christianity and some would prefer Islam or Hinduism.
How can you possibly say what is right or what is wrong?
It's all about human perspective. Bloggers, like any other artists, put forward their heart and mind into their work. Their words are reflections of their emotions. They want the audience to read and understand feelings through their stories and articles. And like everybody else, bloggers too have opinions, which they would showcase to the world. There are those atheists who have taken up blogging to let people know there is no God. There are those spiritually inclined devotees who talk about their organisation to help people who need hope. There are those political leaders who take up blogging to promote their own party. Is it socially unacceptable to promote one's ideas? After all, the reader should be intelligent enough to understand his opinion and ignore the articles talking otherwise.
However, I believe, that it's unacceptable to promote one's ideas at the cost of others. Using offensive language at something or someone we don't like, or to talk positively about offensive methods (such as drugs, betrayal, rape, murder) must at all costs must be avoided. Blogging is sometimes not just a hobby as it has a wider outreach. There are those sensitive people who read our blogs, who might get easily influenced by others. Spreading positivity must be our sole purpose of blogging. As long as we are kind and helpful to people, it doesn't matter what opinion we portray regarding politics or religion. After all, we all come from one secular and democratic country.
