'Listen, Ishita. Please. You cannot go back to him. We had a deal', he cried.
There, Ishita almost stood lifelessly. Her pale face turned pink as her green eyes filled with tears. Her black gown was almost soaked with sweat. Her brown hair reflected sunlight falling through the windows perfectly as he stroked them. She pulled herself back noticing his advances. She wanted to run away from all of this. But something yet stopped her from doing so.
'Ishita, please. Listen to me. We have waited a long time for this opportunity. You cannot just fall in love with him all of a sudden'.
All of a sudden? She wondered. She was always in love with him, she wanted to say. But she kept quiet knowing how it could ruin everything that she looked forward to.
Suchit stepped back silently, trying to not make the two people suspicious. Ananya had her ears glued to the partially open door, listening to the conversation carefully. She then took out a camera, and clicked their photo.
She then eyed Suchit to move away and he followed her out of the building.
'What was that about?' Suchit asked.
'I don't know. She said nothing. Nothing at all. She was just silent, weeping all the while. Do you recognise the guy?'
'No! I couldn't get a close view of him. Hey, show me the picture?'
He carefully examined the picture. He confirmed that he had never seen the guy. He looked to be of about 25 years old and was fairly tall, seemed to have a height of about 5'10, had a wheatish complexion, had strong muscles which Suchit could never manage to build. What was Ishita doing with him? Was she still in love with Suchit? Or was it someone else? There was a bigger question though. What was she doing here?
Suchit was obviously confused. Ishita was the last person he expected to see at the address given in the letter. It was an old building with just a couple of storeys. The first floor was totally empty. The second floor had two doors, one of the doors led to the room where Ishita was talking to this strange man. The other door opened to an office with just two desks, each with desktops. The office was unoccupied. There was a cupboard beside one of the desks, whose doors were probably locked.
'We need to look for some evidence in the office' Suchit said after a moment
'Okay, but is it safe? Especially with them in the adjacent room?'
'No, of course not, so we wait for them to leave the building'.
'What if they lock the building while they go? It could very well be their property?'
'Well then, we get back into the building, find a place to hide and see what they do until they get out of this building'.
As they silently climbed the stairs, they started to hear footsteps approaching them. They stood still for a moment, not knowing what to do. They couldn't get caught. Suchit immediately dragged Ananya back to the ground floor and hid behind the compound wall hoping Ishita wouldn't pay much attention.
They saw Ishita reach the building's open gate along with the unrecognisable man.
'Why is the gate open? I remember closing it when we went upstairs. I don't think anybody came in after that!' He exclaimed.
'Ohh, I don't know' she was till teary-eyed.
'No, something is wrong. Wait here. Let me check' he said and ran back upstairs.
Ananya's heart started pounding. It was just a matter of time until they get caught. They weren't even hiding properly and a cautious search would definitely give them away. She held Suchit tightly on his arm and looked at him. He was staring at Ishita who walked from one end of the gate to the other impatiently. He is not yet over her, she taught.
'Hello Ishita. It was me who opened the gate' Suchit spoke from where he was.
Ananya was surely flabbergasted. What the hell was going on?
